Kachin Tribal Village Trek, Burma/Myanmar - Hiking in the Jungles of Burma

Our summit climb of Mt. Phon Khan Razi exceeded expectations. We started early, about 6:30 am, trying to beat the clouds. This was the only day where I felt I wanted to walk quickly, so I could see the sites before the weather rolled in. Ohn Lwin had another porter join in the front, while he took the rear. Everyone else, except the military escort, stayed in the camp.

The best view of the valley was actually before the sun peered up over the horizon when mountain peaks were just shadowy sentinels in the soft morning light.
