Kachin Tribal Village Trek, Burma/Myanmar - Hiking in the Jungles of Burma

Reaching a summit, untouched since the last snowfall, was a exhilarating experience. The snow wasn’t just devoid of footprints, but formed in a unique crystallized pattern. We took a few obligatory, summit photographs including a “hero shot,” one without your shirt on, as Kirk would call it. It was a tradition that didn’t grow past this trip as it was easy to do at 3,500m / 11,480’, not so easy at over 5,000m / 16,400’.
