3/26 – On to Pokhara and Civilization Pokhara was a pleasant change from other villages and cities in Nepal. Situated by a reasonably wide and quiet lake, it’s much more peaceful than Kathmandu or its touristy suburb Thamel. We got our first real meal in two weeks at a lakeside restaurant. We relaxed while we engulfed a full juicy tandoori chicken and garlic naan. After lunch we walked around a bit, got a shave and haircut, and then went back to the hotel owned by Padam’s sister-in-law. Once back there was one last item on the to-do list before I left. I wanted a better photo of a snake charmer than from my previous trip. I hadn’t seen one this time, so Padam and I headed out on his motorcycle to find one. As you can see below, we succeeded.
