Gear Heads - Personal Location Beacon

While I have never used one, a personal location beacon is a good idea for any remote or solo trekking. The news is littered with stories of lost hikers, usually without a beacon. In an emergency it could be a life saver. Minimally, carry a safety whistle. Also, it is important that you leave a detailed itinerary with friends, family or the authorities.
