Gear Heads - Gloves If you are hiking in warm weather a pair of gloves won’t be necessary. However, for cold weather hikes, a pair of mittens, not gloves, are best to keep your fingers warm when you hike. For mildly cold temperature, and for when you need to operate a camera or filter your water, a pair of thin gloves or glove liners are great. I use a pair of glove liners like these available from REI: And then a pair of mittens like these from REI:Return to Gear Heads
