Gear Heads - Sleeping Pad

If you are sleeping in a tent or on a hard floor, a lightweight sleeping pad makes the night a lot more comfortable. They come in two main options: a closed cell foam pad or a self-inflatable style. They vary greatly in price and weight, so do your research carefully. If you are planning to sleep in guest houses or refugios, you may choose to skip a pad. As always, the choice may come down to how much weight you want to carry.

While I do not own this sleeping pad, if i were buying a new one, I'd go for this one at REI as it is extremely light. A heavy pad will cost you in terms of your back, your luggage, and if you use a porter, so buy light.
